Sometimes it gets challenging when you are caught off guard as your child asks you questions about his/her adoption and you wonder... Where did he/she get that from?
Then you realize... of course at school! Classmates at school may have the same questions your child has when they do not understand the concept of adoption and what it means.
Children are naturally curious, so they will ask questions and will want accurate answers. Luckily for us mothers there are great resources out there at our fingertips that we can use for these circumstances.
Adoptive Families Magazine is a non-profit organization that provides many resources you can rely on to answer many questions related to adoption. They provide information such as handouts about different topics related to adoption that you can read or give to others as an educational tool.
Helping Classmates Understand Adoption is one of those handouts that will come in handy for me in the near future that I would like to share with you.
I encourage you to visit Adoptive Families website at www.adoptivefamilies.com. The online magazine also has parent groups that you can become part of and have panal discussions as well. I hope this information is helpful to you.
Enjoy!
