She is starting to come around with Albert, not fully yet, but at least we've seen a bit of progress. She has her moments where I think she begins to remember her home in China and the orphanage because of some of her facial expressions. I observe her facial gestures, because she is a very expressive little girl and I can tell when she gives me the confused look, the "I don't know what you're saying look", the 'I don't trust you right now" look, The "I'm upset" look and I'm sure there will be many more "looks" hopefully more good ones that not so good ones, right?
I think she likes her new home a lot because she runs around and she giggles alot when we come home from running errands most of the day. She loves her room, she's been sleeping in her room since we got back from China and sleeps the entire night.
Malina already knows how to say a few words in Spanish... She says ojos(
eyes), nariz (nose), boca (mouth) & pelo (hair). The other day she surprised me, because she called me and all by herself started to say these words in Spanish wthout my help! Incredible, right? I am so proud of her! she hasn't fully grieved yetCh the loss of what she has known in her 4 short years of her life and leaving her country behind and I'm sure that this emotion will come, and we will be there for her when it does.
Attached are a few more pictures of our trip and some pictures of us already home with her. Some of these shots depict the hospitality of the Chinese people in Guangzhou (Shamian Island).
